DESCRIPTION:The Winter Trial 2027\nCelebrating 25 Editions of pure winter rally heritage\nIn the winter of 2027\, history will be written once more.\nFrom 31 January to 5 February 2027\, we proudly present the 25th edition of The Winter Trial\, a landmark anniversary of Europe’s most iconic winter rally for classic cars. A celebration of endurance\, precision\, friendship\, and an unbreakable passion for driving in the most demanding of conditions.\nFor twenty-five editions\, The Winter Trial has challenged crews to master snow covered mountain passes\, frozen valleys\, and breathtaking alpine scenery. This jubilee edition will bring together everything that has defined the rally for a quarter of a century and elevate it even further.\nA legendary route through the heart of winter\nThe 2027 route leads through the spectacular winter landscapes of the Czech Republic\, Austria\, Croatia and Slovenia combining technical regularities and unforgettable views and roads of the past editions with new territory. The rally will conclude at a new location for our event (which we will keep a secret for now)\, where we will celebrate this exceptional anniversary edition in true Winter Trial style. \nWhat is the Winter Trial?\nThe Winter Trial is a six-day regularity rally for classic cars\, held in the depths of winter. Success is not about speed\, but about precision\, consistency\, and teamwork\, maintaining exact average speeds on snow and ice while navigating challenging terrain.\nEach day covers approximately 350 kilometres. Each edition has added a new chapter to a story shared by hundreds of crews.\nIn 2027\, we celebrate: 25 editions of adventure\, competition\, camaraderie\, and unforgettable winter memories.\nWill you be part of this historic milestone? \nWhat’s new in 2027: The Nations Cup\nTo mark this jubilee edition\, we proudly introduce a major new competition element: The Nations Cup\nFor the first time in Winter Trial history\, teams will not only compete as individual crews\, but also as nations.\nHow it works:\n• Each national team consists of five cars\n• The best performing teams will compete for national glory\n• Only the top teams will have the honor of lifting the Nations Cup Trophy\nBring together the strongest five crews from your country and defend your national pride on Europe’s ultimate winter rally stage. \nWho can enter?\nParticipation requires just a few essentials:\n• A valid driving license\n• A classic car\n• A true sense of adventure\n• And a good sense of humor \nEligible cars\nAll classic cars of a type produced before 31 December 1985\, provided they are:\n• Reliable and safe\n• Equipped with an accurate trip meter\n• Capable of a minimum fuel range of 300 km\n(See the regulations for full technical requirements.) \nChoose your class\n• Club Class\nLower average speeds\, fewer regularities\, and no evening loops. Ideal for newcomers or less experienced crews.\n• Challenge Class\nThe full daytime route without evening loops\, perfectly balanced between competition and comfort.\n• Trial Class\nThe ultimate challenge\, including two demanding evening loops of approximately three hours each. DESCRIPTION:The Last Hurrah! – 29/09 – 02-10-2027\nA tribute to the late Philip Young…\nIn the mid 1980’s\, English motor sport enthusiast Philip Young began organising events that kick started the Classic Rally movement. Over the next few decades rallies like the Classic Marathon and Monte Carlo Challenge gave hundreds of enthusiasts all over Europe and beyond the opportunity to drive\, and re-live\, the golden days of rallying. \nSadly\, Philip is no longer with us but some of those competitors\, along with a few of his original organising team\, have got together to organise a special event in his memory. \nBased at Annecy in the French Alps\, the three day event harks back to the essence of rallying as Philip originally intended. Dramatic Alpine passes\, remote mountain roads and pretty rural villages all strung together by accurate navigation and a testing timetable – the kind of driving your classic or vintage car was built for. \nAnd\, at the end of each day\, you return to the same hotel terrace overlooking Lac d’Annecy with new memories to share over dinner and a few drinks! This is Classic rallying in its purest form in memory of the man who started it all… \nRALLY FORMAT \n\nThree days rallying based at one luxury hotel\nApproximately 300km per day\nRegularity sections on legendary Alpine roads\nDriving Tests at iconic settings\nClassic map reading (and incidental Tulip Navigation)\nAccurate time keeping\nRelaxed evenings and informal prize givings\nFinal Celebration dinner in true rally tradition\n\nNo extreme schedules\, no unnecessary complications\, just enjoyable rallying… \nWHO CAN ENTER? \nDrivers who love driving for the sake of it\, and co-drivers who enjoy the art of navigating and teamwork. Enthusiasm matters more than experience! \nELIGIBLE CARS \nClassic Cars – built before 1986. \nHowever\, to encourage entrants to bring the oldest cars possible\, The Last Hurrah! plans to use a co-efficient results system based on the age of the car.  The aim is not to punish newer cars\, but to celebrate and reward the bravery of bringing truly historic machinery into the mountains. Exact details of how it will work will be published in the event Regulations. \nHIGHLIGHTS OF THE LAST HURRAH! \n\nThree full days classic rallying from one luxury hotel\nSpectacular Alpine roads around Lac d’Annecy\nCarefully crafted routes in the spirit of the original events\nRelaxed evenings with like-minded enthusiasts\nLimited entry for intimate atmosphere\nGastronomic dinners overlooking the lake\nTraditional Rally Prize Giving and Celebration Dinner in honour of Philip Young.\n\nThe Last Hurrah! celebrates the Golden Era of Classic Rallying and take participants back to the roots of the sport. A rally that feels like it could have taken place nearly a half a century ago and yet still feels timeless today.
