Solar energy is one of the most challenging energy sources to be used. Especially in the quest for efficient and effective sustainable transport of people and goods. \nFor the first time Classic Events challenged international universities to display their technical innovation and entrepreneurship in solar technique during the Solar Challenge in October 2021 in Morocco. \nThe world’s leading technical universities will compete in a five day event to decide who has created the best and fastest total package regarding\, sustainable energy\, innovation and entrepreneurship to withstand the challenges of the Moroccan roads. \n5 days\, 5 stages\, 2500 km\, 2 desert bivouacs. Only the best are up for this Challenge. \nWhat is the Solar Challenge Morocco. \nThe Solar Challenge Morocco is a race for solar cars\, build according to the regulations. \nThe Solar Challenge Morocco is a five day event\, with five different stages.  The joint time of these five stage will decide who will be the winner of the Solar Challenge 2021. The daily start and finish will be at a purpose build bivouac. On both start and finish location as during the bivouacs\, you will have the opportunity to offer your sponsors and guest a taste of the desert in one of our special partner programs. Contact us for the tailor made possibilities and costs. \nWho can compete? \nUniversity teams who have been building a car either for the Solar Challenge 2021 or a previous Solar Challenge for the Challenger and Cruiser class. \nWhat can you expect? \nFrom city roads\, to mountain and desert roads\, 2500 km with the start and finish in Agadir. \nScruteneering:                   23 – 24 October 2021 \nTestruns:                            08 – 22 October 2021 \nStart:                                   25 October  2021 \nFinish and prizegiving:   29 October 2021 \nCars: Solar Cars purpose build according to the regulations. \nNavigation: simple\, no navigation competition. \nCompetition: time challenge over 5 different stages. For the Challanger Class\, the teams that can use the solar Energy the most efficient and finish with the lowest total time will be the winner of the event. For the Cruiser Class\, the winner is determined by a number of factors as evaluated by our judges\, including both performance and design \nHistory \nThe first Solar road competition was held in 1982 as a challenge for home built solar cars. In the years following\, it has evolved into a number of different Solar events . As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic\, several events have been cancelled. This creates room for new initiatives like the Solar Challenge Morocco.  We have looked into possibilities to organize this event in regions where it is expected to be possible to have a good Solar event. A region willing to give all the assistance needed and the required solar intensity for the cars. With the support of many\, we have been able to organize the first Solar Challenge Morocco in the beautiful country of Morocco. \n  \nSolar Cars \nSolar cars eligible for this race are build according to the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge Regulations. \nThere will be two different classes \nChallenger Class : build for sustainable endurance and total energy efficiency \nCruiser Class: Production cars powered by the sun\, created for practically and sustainable transport. \nEach driver has to have a valid driver license. \nWhat does the entry fee include?  \n\nParticipation solar challenge 2021 for a team consisting of 20 persons\nRoute consisting of 5 stages\nRoute book\nScrutineering included installation of track and trace system (Rallysafe)\nTeam Preparation Facilities e.g. during opening of the Headquarters:\nPit box / garage for car preparation\nGuarded storage of trailers and material during the event\n4 x Overnight stay in a guarded bivouac\n5 x dinner\n4 x breakfast\nAward ceremony for team members\nEvent insurance\, 3rd party liability\n\nAdditional team members hospitality package: € 450\,- per person \n\n4 x Overnight stay in a guarded bivouac\n4 x breakfast\n5 x dinner\nTicket for award-ceremony\n\nNot included in the entryfee : \n\nTransport costs to\, in and from Morocco\nAccommodation costs until the start of the Solar Trial\nAccommodation costs from the finish of the Solar Trial onwards\nAdditional insurance for personal belongings\, tools\, equipment\, solar cars and other vehicles\n\n\nRental cars for the support team\n\n
